Thirty-two students have today graduated from ECOM Vocational Training Institute (EVTI) at a ceremony held at St. James Catholic Hall in Blantyre.
The event marked the 24th graduation for the inter-denominational Christian training institute, which offers vocational skills in general fitting, painting and decoration.
Speaking during the ceremony, EVTI Principal Benson Mongiwa expressed the need for students to become self-starters after they graduate.
“We incorporate entrepreneurship training in our curriculum because we know high the unemployment rate is” he said.
The graduating class completed a three-year programme designed to equip the youth with practical, hands-on skills.
