DON BOSCO YOUTH TECHNICAL INSTITUTE COMMEMORATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute on Friday ,6th March 2026, joined the rest of the country in commemorating International Women’s Day under the theme “Give to Gain: A More Equitable, Inclusive and Sustainable Environment for Women.”
The event featured various activities including sharing of the Word, a health talk on personal hygiene and mental health, student exhibitions, and inspiring academic and professional success stories.
Research and Development Officer for Don Bosco Tech Africa, Mr Ngure Githinji, said the day provides an opportunity to reflect on and recognise the important contributions women make to society despite the barriers they continue to face.
He noted that empowering women and marginalised groups enables them to actively participate in the economy and community development.
Meanwhile, Senior Nurse Midwife Technician at Kamuzu Central Hospital, Gloria Phiri, urged young women to practice proper menstrual hygiene and pay attention to mental health, noting that many young people are increasingly affected by mental health challenges.
